In 2009 I obtained my level 5 BTEC Diploma in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage which is the current highest level in the UK. I studied at the Oxford School of Sports Massage specialising in Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy, Injury Treatment, Prevention and Rehabilitation. There are only 12 institutions in the UK that provide this level of training and only therapists qualified to level 4 and above are considered to be highly qualified in this field. Like myself, I can then become a member of the Sports Massage Association and Institute of Remedial Massage Therapist.
I am fully insured and have a members license with the FHT. The Federation of Holistic Therapies are the UK and Ireland's largest professional association for complementary, sports and holistic beauty therapists. Becoming a full member of FHT means I continually renew my qualifications on an annual basis and also FHT members are expected to abide by the FHT’s Code of Conduct of Professional Practice that enables members to have a common guide to excellence in professional conduct and practice, and to meet and even exceed the expectations of clients.
I have worked at many local sporting event's providing pre, intermediate and post massage to participating sports men and women. I have also taken part in national sporting event's such as 'Sleepless in the Saddle' which is a 24 hour cycling event, providing pre and post sports massage to athlete's throughout the night and also the London marathon.
